Believe Belong and Blossom

The Museum partnered with Together for Humanity to deliver Believe Belong and Blossom - a mentoring and empowerment program for Perth girls from diverse backgrounds aged 14-18.

The inaugural Perth program was run at UWA Watersports Complex in Crawley in June 2021, and had 12 participants from various Perth high schools, as well as an impressive cross-section of inspiring women of colour as facilitators and mentors.

The objective of the program was to create a sense of belonging in Perth, and to connect high school students and working professionals, all women of colour, to each other and to the matriarchs of this land.

MFT Board Member, Rabia Siddique, has collaborated with PLC Perth to create the Ripples & Waves Program.

Ripples & Waves is a curriculum-based self-leadership program offered to PLC girls, which redefines leadership and empowers every student to be a leader.

To encourage and inspire students, Ripples & Waves will introduce experiences, people, concepts, stories and partner with organisations that will challenge and motivate the girls and, in some cases, push them out of their comfort zones. The Museum has been chosen as one of these organisations, and will collaborate with PLC Perth in Term 4 2021.

I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across that water that creates ripples and waves.
